Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a Welsh-speaking Learning Support Assistant to support pupils in Welsh-medium primary schools across Cardiff. Start ASAP / September 2026. Pay £93 per day, with full-time, part-time and flexible supply options.

You will work one-to-one and in small groups to reinforce learning, support pupils with ALN where appropriate and promote the Welsh language throughout the school day. Training and ongoing support are provided; prior experience is helpful but not required.

• Fluent Welsh speaker with excellent verbal and written communication.
• Patient, caring and supportive nature.
• Previous experience is helpful but not essential.

We are partnering with a range of welcoming Welsh-medium primary schools across Cardiff that are seeking dedicated Welsh-speaking Learning Support Assistants to join their teams. We have flexible opportunities available, including full-time, part-time, and day-to-day supply roles.

This position is perfect for anyone considering careers in teaching, additional learning needs (ALN), educational psychology, speech and language therapy, social work, or childcare. You'll gain invaluable classroom experience while supporting children with a variety of learning needs.

The Role

As a Welsh-speaking Learning Support Assistant, you'll provide targeted support to pupils, helping them to engage confidently with learning and reach their individual goals. Your responsibilities may include:

• Supporting pupils in Welsh-medium classrooms
• Working one-to-one and with small groups to reinforce learning
• Supporting children with additional learning needs (ALN) where appropriate
• Encouraging confidence, independence, and positive behaviour
• Promoting the use of the Welsh language throughout the school day
