Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd is seeking a Welsh-speaking KS1 Teaching Assistant in Cardiff. The role supports pupils aged 5–7 in Welsh-medium primary schools and offers full-time, part-time and flexible supply opportunities. Start date ASAP/Sept 2026 with pay at £93 per day, paid weekly.

This position is ideal for someone eager to gain classroom experience and potentially pursue a career in education, childcare, or related fields. Training and ongoing support are provided.

Qualifications

• Fluent Welsh speaker required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Caring, patient and enthusiastic approach.
• Previous classroom, childcare, or education experience welcomed but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils' learning in a Welsh-medium KS1 classroom.
• Assist with early reading, writing, numeracy and language development.
• Work with individuals or small groups as well as whole class sessions.
• Encourage confidence, engagement and language use in Welsh.
• Support pupils’ social, emotional and communication development.
• Assist teachers with classroom activities, resources and displays.
• Contribute to a positive behaviour plan and safe learning environment.
• Support pupils during breaks and school activities as required.
