Job summary

Sendsory is seeking a Head of Wellbeing & Development to lead therapeutic wellbeing and communication for children aged 4–11 with complex SEND. You will deliver 1:1 and group therapies, support EHCP outcomes, and champion Total Communication, setting a trauma‑informed, restorative culture.

You will work with families and external professionals, provide staff coaching, and contribute to safeguarding, assessment and reflective practice across the provision.

Qualifications

• Significant experience working with children with SLD, autism and complex SEND.
• Experience delivering therapeutic, sensory or play‑based interventions.
• Experience supporting children with personal and intimate care while maintaining dignity.

Responsibilities

• Deliver therapeutic sessions 1:1 and in small groups.
• Support EHCP outcomes and development across learners.
• Use Total Communication approaches (AAC, Makaton, visual supports) to maximise engagement.
• Record observations and safeguarding concerns accurately.
• Collaborate with multi‑agency professionals and families to ensure joined‑up support.
