Job summary

Compass Community Schools are seeking a Therapeutic Pastoral Lead to join our leadership team and drive holistic student development. You will lead interventions, model therapeutic best practice and support school staff in applying AHCT and related approaches to improve behaviour and wellbeing.

You will engage in de‑escalation, safeguarding, and collaborative planning with regional SENCOs and the Therapeutic Development Manager to ensure positive outcomes for SEMH and SEND students.

Qualifications

• The successful candidate will be calm and sensitive at times of potential dysregulation and experienced in de‑escalation with knowledge of key theories and frameworks of interventions that support children.

Responsibilities

• The pastoral, SMSC, socio-emotional resilience and personal development of students.
• Assessment, monitoring, reporting on and supporting the holistic progress and development of students.
• Ensuring safeguarding is paramount and safeguarding policies are adhered to.
• Contributing to the annual School Improvement Plan and School Evaluation Form.
• Maintaining knowledge of SMSC and Personal Development elements of independent school standards and Ofsted framework and promoting these daily.
