Job summary

Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice is seeking a Wellbeing Co-ordinator to plan, organise and facilitate activities that support the emotional and practical wellbeing of patients and carers. You will work with a multi-disciplinary team to tailor activities to individual needs and goals, including outreach work in the local community.

The role is 15 hours per week with flexible working arrangements, based at Leckhampton Court Hospice, with enhanced benefits and a competitive salary pro rata.

Qualifications

  • Experience in facilitating groups and one-to-one interactions to support wellbeing.
  • Experience in palliative/hospice or wellbeing settings is advantageous.
  • Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle.

  • Plan, organise and facilitate activities, groups and one-to-one interactions to support emotional, social and practical wellbeing.
  • Work with healthcare professionals, volunteers and hospice teams to reflect patients' needs and goals.

We are looking for a compassionate and enthusiastic Wellbeing Co-ordinator to join our team at Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice.

This is an exciting opportunity to support the wellbeing of patients and carers using our services, helping to create meaningful, inclusive and person-centred activities that enhance quality of life.

About the role

As Wellbeing Co-ordinator, you will help plan, organise and facilitate activities, groups and one-to-one interactions with patients and carers that support emotional, social and practical wellbeing.

You will work alongside healthcare professionals, volunteers and wider hospice teams to ensure patients and carers are supported in a way that reflects their individual needs, preferences and goals through an active caseload. This role may include outreach work where needed.

The Wellbeing Co-ordinator will work as a key part of the local hospice team and around the local community footprint. You will work individually with patients and families who may feel isolated, lonely, scared, or have needs that may affect their mental and emotional wellbeing.

About you
  • Is a strong team player and enjoys working collaboratively with healthcare professionals, volunteers and families.
  • Can work autonomously, using initiative and good judgement to manage tasks and priorities.
  • Has confidence in facilitating groups and supporting meaningful one-to-one interactions with patients and carers, creating a welcoming and supportive environment.
  • Communicates with warmth, sensitivity and professionalism.
  • Is organised, adaptable and able to respond to the changing needs of people in a hospice setting.

Experience of group facilitation is important for this role. Previous experience working in a palliative care, hospice, health, social care or wellbeing setting would be advantageous, but we are also interested in hearing from people with transferable skills and a genuine commitment to supporting wellbeing.

Essential Criteria
  • Full UK Driving License and access to a vehicle
  • Qualifications in healthcare, social care or healthcare support services desirable
  • Advanced Communication Skills qualification
  • Experience using counselling or coaching skills to enable positive listening and problem solving and interpreting assessment outcomes
  • Experience of providing face to face support for individuals or families in a care or support setting
