About the Role

Sue Ryder's Housekeeping staff play a critical role in the operation of our hospices, contributing to the comfort, safety, and dignity of patients and their families. Their work supports the overall mission of providing compassionate, high-quality end-of-life care.


This is a great opportunity to join our fantastic team of housekeeping assistants who together enable a clean, tidy and welcoming environment for both the service users and their visitors.


Duties include but are not limited to:



  • Maintaining the highest possible standard of cleanliness throughout the service including the laundry

  • Responding to incidents that require quick, professional and discreet assistance with regards to cleaning.

  • Safe storage and use of chemicals

  • To record all information required in line with Health and safety, compliance

  • Experience providing cleaning services in a healthcare or similar setting

  • Ability to follow infection control procedures and safety protocols with flexibility

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Commitment to supporting a safe, accessible, and dignified environment


Desirable Criteria


  • Experience in a healthcare or infection-controlled environment

  • Training in COSHH and manual handling
