Arthur Rank Hospice Charity in Cambridge is seeking a Wellbeing Assistant to join the Living Well Team. The role provides personalised emotional, psychological and practical support to patients with advanced serious illness and to their families, designing and coordinating individual care plans and group activities.

The post is fixed term for six months, full-time 37.5 hours per week with the possibility of part-time job share.

Qualifications

• Valid Driving Licence is required.
• Experience in health and social care, or rehabilitation service.
• Either Level 3 health/social care qualification or CACHE Care Certificate (or Level 2 with experience) are acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalised emotional, psychological and practical support to patients and families.
• Design and implement individual care programmes and coordinate patient support groups.

Job summary

The Living Well Service at Arthur Rank Hospice Charity supports patients with life limiting conditions through a range of therapeutic activities and group sessions. Due to growth within the team, we have an opportunity to join us as in a new role of Wellbeing Assistant! This role will be based at our Hospice in Cambridge, one day per week will be community based, supporting patients across Cambridgeshire.

Working as part of the Living Well Team, the Wellbeing Assistant provides personalised and holistic emotional, psychological and practical support to patients with an advanced serious illness as well as their families and carers. The role focuses on enhancing quality of life, promoting emotional wellbeing and supporting individuals through challenges of palliative and end‑of‑life care. The role will work with patients and carers to design and implement individual care programmes as well as planning and co‑ordinating patient support groups.

This is a fixed term post for 6 months.

Remuneration and working hours

Starting salary of £25,760, with opportunities to progress to £27,476. The salary quoted is based on full time hours and will be pro‑rated for part‑time posts. As a Charity with limited funds, it is usual practice for new starters to commence on the minimum of the salary band for the role. Exceptionally, and only for candidates demonstrating significant strengths relevant to the role, we may be able to negotiate on this.

We have a full‑time role available (37.5 hours per week) but also welcome applicants who may be interested in working part‑time hours as a job share.

Essential qualifications

• Valid Driving License
• Experience of working in a health and social care setting, or rehabilitation service.
• Either a relevant Level 3 vocational qualification e.g. health and social care, CACHE (Council for Awards in Care, Health and Education) Care Certificate or a level 2 qualification and significant previous experience within a relevant clinical field (social care, home care, health care, palliative care, end of life etc).
