An established charity is seeking a dedicated Welfare Officer to provide essential support to veterans living in the community. This role involves assisting veterans in navigating welfare benefits, promoting financial stability, and fostering community cohesion through engaging events. The ideal candidate will work closely with veterans to help them regain confidence and transition to independent living. Salary up to £30,000 per annum, dependent upon experience.
This is a Permanent, Full Time vacancy that will close in 25 days at 23:59 BST.
The Welfare Officer will provide a robust welfare support service to RBLI veterans and beneficiaries, predominantly those living on the RBLI Village. The role involves assisting, supporting, and enabling veterans to regain confidence and move forward with their individual journeys to re-integrate with society and the workplace. This will be achieved by working closely with them and other members of the Housing and Welfare team.
The role will support and enable veterans and beneficiaries to complete welfare benefits applications to maximise income, ensure financial stability, and promote overall wellbeing. This includes developing and delivering a range of community events and activities across the RBLI village to encourage community cohesion and social skills.
The Welfare Officer will also provide support and guidance to veterans and their dependents on the Village to facilitate their transition to sustainable independent living beyond the Village, when appropriate.
