Are you an Attendance and Welfare Officer seeking a rewarding position in a secondary school? Tempest Resourcing is actively collaborating with a prominent secondary school in Bolton.

CONTRACT DETAILS:

  • Job Title - Attendance & Welfare Officer
  • Permanent - 30 hours

About you:

We are looking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced Attendance and Welfare Officer who can work in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate must have Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths or equivalent, possess strong IT skills, be a good communicator, approachable and have a positive attitude towards staff and learners.

Key responsibilities:

  • Relentlessly seek to improve the attendance of students at the School, in order to meet targets, set by the Headteacher.
  • Managing the attendance process elements for pupils leaving the School, leave of absence requests, Children Missing Education, Elective Home Education and alternative provision.
  • Ensure the Children Missing Education procedure is followed by the school.
  • Follow the First Day Calling Procedure to comply with government guidelines
  • Check registers for errors and messages and liaise with the school staff regarding any unknown absences from lessons.
  • You will provide operational and administrative support to promote whole school attendance strategies in order to improve attendance levels and reduce persistent absence, in line with school targets led by Pastoral and Inclusion Team in collaboration with all staff.
  • To receive incoming calls with reference to attendance. Telephone parents/ carers for absent children.
  • Contact Parent(s)/Carer(s) when students marked absent, and reason not yet known (Absence Text Messaging/Telephone Calls)
