Babcock in Swindon is seeking a Welder trainer to deliver and assess welding and fabrication training for military trainees, ensuring they meet Defence standards. The role focuses on moving from production to education, coaching and guiding learners on best practices.

The candidate should have supervisory welding experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to maintain accurate records. On-site work at MOD Lyneham enables hands-on leadership and safety-focused training.

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience in welding, fabrication, engineering or manufacturing.
• Good communication to support and develop trainees.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to organise workloads and maintain records.
• Ability to obtain Enhanced DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Deliver welding and fabrication training for military trainees (practical and classroom).
• Prepare and maintain lesson plans, materials, assessments and resources.
• Assess trainee performance and provide feedback and support.
• Maintain trainee records, reports and training documentation.
• Ensure workshops and equipment are safe, compliant and fit for purpose.
