Job summary

WEC Group Training Academy (MTL Rotherham) is seeking an experienced Welding Instructor to coach and train apprentices in MIG and TIG welding, with a focus on safety and practical skills. You will deliver the Level 3 Plate Welder Apprenticeship Standard and provide hands-on guidance to learners in a busy workshop.

You will mentor apprentices, assess progress, and help them develop confidence and technical competence while maintaining equipment to the highest safety standards.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience in MIG and TIG welding.
• Solid background in fabrication and the ability to interpret engineering drawings.
• Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
• Ability to motivate, coach and support apprentices of varying abilities.
• Proactive approach and able to work independently with initiative.
• Genuine passion for developing the next generation of engineers.

Welding Instructor / Welding Trainer MIG & TIG

Previous teaching, training or assessing experience is desirable but not essential

Salary: £21.00ph - (£41,000 Basic per anum) - Plus Bonus & Profit Share.

Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week
Monday Thursday: 7:30am 4:00pm
Friday: 7:30am 1:00pm

Due to continued growth, we're looking for an experienced Welder/Fabricator to join our Academy as a Welding Instructor based at our MTL advanced division.

Key Responsibilities

Please note: An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role. The cost will be covered by WEC Group.
