Hinkley Point C is one of Europe's largest and most complex infrastructure projects - a multi-billion-pound nuclear new build that will provide low-carbon electricity to around six million UK homes.
We are looking for an experienced Welding & NDT Field Engineer to join the Construction Surveillance team at Hinkley Point C.
For this position, we're particularly interested in people who understand welding from both sides of the process.
You’ll need to be a CSWIP 3.2 qualified Welding Inspector with strong NDT knowledge and experience, but we're not looking for someone whose experience has been limited to inspection.
You must have previous hands‑on welding experience.
Whether you started your career as a coded welder, pipe welder or fabricator/welder before progressing into inspection, NDT or quality surveillance, we're looking for someone who genuinely understands how welding is performed in the field.
As a Field Engineer, you’ll provide independent construction and quality surveillance across welding, fabrication and mechanical installation activities on the Hinkley Point C site.
You’ll form part of the site Construction Surveillance team, supporting the delivery of NEC Supervisor duties and ensuring works are completed in accordance with contractual, engineering and quality requirements.
This is a field-based position requiring someone comfortable getting out onto site, assessing the work being performed and challenging quality issues where necessary.
You’ll undertake continuous, notified and planned surveillance of contractor activities, identifying potential problems before they impact construction and ensuring appropriate inspection records are in place before works progress.
Your responsibilities will include:
Good Luck!
