Cooper & Hall Limited is offering a 4-year Engineering (Design and Manufacture) Graduate Apprenticeship focused on Welding Engineering.

You will study for a BEng (Hons) in Engineering (Design and Manufacture) at Glasgow Caledonian University and work on real-world defence projects, including Royal Navy Type 31 frigates and carrier maintenance, gaining hands-on experience in welding processes and inspection.

Qualifikationen

• UCAS Tariff of 96 points required.
• Highers BBCC or equivalent including Maths and a science/technology subject.
• Foundation Apprenticeships can count as one Higher at grade B; SCQF Level 6 Modern Apprenticeship counts as two Highers at B.
• HNC in Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing or Welding Engineering required or preferred.

Aufgaben

• Assist with development and review of Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
• Support welding coordination activities and inspection processes via visual inspection and exposure to NDT techniques.
• Contribute to weld audits and compliance activities to meet quality and regulatory standards.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives, cost reduction, and development of new procedures.
• Help investigate weld issues, determine root causes, and assist implementing lasting solutions.
• Gain exposure to welding automation and robotics and learn about future trends in Welding Engineering.
