Babcock International invites applications for an Engineering Design and Manufacture Graduate Apprenticeship – Welding Engineering in Rosyth. This four-year programme leads to a BEng (Hons) degree while you develop welding engineering expertise on UK defence projects, including Type 31 frigates and carrier upkeep.

You will study for a BEng (Hons) in Engineering (Design and Manufacture) at Glasgow Caledonian University, with blended learning and progression through Babcock’s Apprenticeship

Qualifications

• UCAS Tariff: 96 points required.
• Scottish Highers: BBCC or equivalent, including Maths and a science or technology subject.
• Foundation Apprenticeships count as one Higher at grade B, with SQA Highers.
• Modern Apprenticeship at SCQF Level 6 in a related subject, with SQA Highers.
• HNC in Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing or Welding Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the development and review of Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
• Support welding coordination activities and inspection processes including visual inspections and NDT exposure.
• Assist with weld audits and compliance activities to meet quality and regulatory standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying cost-reduction opportunities and developing new procedures.

Foundation Apprenticeships (count as one Higher, grade B)
