Babcock offers a 4-year Engineering (Design and Manufacture) Graduate Apprenticeship in Welding Engineering at Rosyth, Scotland. You will study toward a BEng (Hons) while contributing to real defence projects and developing expertise in welding processes, materials and quality controls.

You’ll work with experienced Welding Engineers, support WPS development, audits, NDT exposure and continuous improvement, with opportunities in welding automation technologies as your knowledge grows.

Qualifications

• UCAS tariff 96+ points required.
• Scottish Highers BBCC or equivalent, including Maths and a science/tech subject.
• Foundation Apprenticeships counting as one Higher with SQA Highers.
• SCQF Level 6 Modern Apprenticeship with SQA Highers.
• HNC in Electrical/Mechanical/Manufacturing/Welding Engineering.
• Resident in Scotland; on-site role requiring commuting to Rosyth.
• Must be able to obtain BPSS and Security Check clearance.
• Post may require sole UK national status.

Responsabilités

• Study for a BEng (Hons) in Engineering (Design and Manufacture) at Glasgow Caledonian University.
• Develop welding engineering knowledge: welding processes, materials and metallurgy.
• Contribute to development/review of Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
• Support welding coordination activities and inspection processes (visual, NDT).
• Assist weld audits and compliance activities to meet quality/regulatory standards.
• Participate in continuous improvement, cost reduction and new procedure development.
• Gain exposure to welding automation and robotics during the programme.

Foundation Apprenticeships (1 Higher equivalent) with SQA Highers

Modern Apprenticeship SCQF Level 6 with SQA Highers
