Core Talent Recruitment in the United Kingdom is seeking a Welding Engineer who thinks beyond the weld to drive new ways of working, improved procedures and smarter manufacturing. You will own welding engineering activities, develop procedures, assess technologies, and support qualification while maintaining ISO 3834 compliance.
The role blends theory with shop-floor practice to deliver tangible improvements across production, quality and design teams, helping the business move forward with each
We’re looking for a Welding Engineer who thinks beyond the weld.
This isn’t a role for someone who simply follows procedures, maintains paperwork and keeps things compliant.
We’re looking for someone who understands why we weld the way we do — and has the knowledge, confidence and technical credibility to ask:
“Is there a better way?”
As our Welding Engineer, you’ll play a key role in developing and improving how we manufacture, weld and solve technical challenges. You’ll bring new ideas, new techniques and new ways of working, helping us become more efficient, capable and technically advanced.
Technical authority that means something
Working within the requirements of ISO 3834, this role carries genuine technical responsibility.
Your understanding of welding theory, materials, processes and qualification requirements will give you the technical authority to assess, develop and authorise appropriate welding procedures and methods within your area of competence.
That authority isn't about signing a document because a standard says you can.
It’s about having the knowledge behind the signature.
Understanding the metallurgy.
Understanding the process.
Understanding the heat input, materials, joint design and weld performance.
Understanding the risks — and knowing how to control them.
In other words, you’ll understand the theory behind the procedure, not just the procedure itself.
This could be the role for you if…
You’re the person who looks at an established process and thinks:
“Why are we doing it like that?”
You enjoy understanding the science behind welding and using that knowledge to make better engineering decisions.
You’re curious about new technology.
You challenge conventional thinking.
You enjoy solving problems rather than simply working around them.
And you want your expertise to have a visible impact on how a business operates.
We’re particularly interested in someone who can combine strong welding theory with practical manufacturing experience — someone who can move comfortably between the technical detail and the shop floor.
More than a compliance role
We don't want someone whose primary objective is to keep the welding system ticking over.
We want someone who can help us move it forward.
If you have the technical knowledge to understand why a welding procedure works, the curiosity to find out whether it could work better, and the confidence to turn that thinking into practical improvements, we'd like to hear from you.
Bring us your knowledge.
Bring us your ideas.
Challenge the way we do things.
Help us build the next generation of our welding capability.
