Job summary

Qualifications

• Recognised welding engineering qualification or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of welding processes, materials and metallurgy.
• Experience with ISO 3834 and related standards.
• Experience in developing, reviewing or qualifying welding procedures.
• Understanding of welding procedure qualification principles.
• Ability to interpret standards and apply them to real situations.
• Practical manufacturing/fabrication experience.
• Interest in innovation and continuous improvement.
• Confidence to challenge existing practices and introduce new ideas.
• Strong communication across engineering, production and quality.

Responsibilities

• Take technical ownership of welding engineering activities.
• Develop, review and improve welding procedures and working methods.
• Identify opportunities for new processes, techniques, equipment and technologies.
• Challenge established methods and find smarter, more efficient ways of working.
• Provide technical guidance on welding processes, materials, defects and weld performance.
• Support the development and qualification of welding procedures and personnel.
• Ensure welding activities meet standards and customer requirements, including ISO 3834.
• Collaborate with production, quality, design and engineering teams to solve problems.
• Investigate welding issues and develop practical, technically sound solutions.
• Stay up-to-date with welding technology, standards and best practice.
