Job Summary

Provide Manufacturing Engineering capabilities to operational and development programs to enable and deliver zero defect projects, utilizing engineering and problem-solving skills. Responsible for delivering robust and capable manufacturing process technology related to materials, tooling, part fabrication, and assembly.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Ensure customer requirements are fulfilled according to this manual or provide alternative procedures in product planning documents for programs requiring such alternatives.
  2. Develop and evaluate Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and their qualification results.
  3. Implement visual welding inspector written practices.
  4. Manage the training and certification system for welders and welding operators, including qualification of welding variables and performance evaluation.
  5. Perform inspections or verify that work and records conform to aerospace standards.
  6. Certify welders' qualifications according to aerospace codes and standards.
  7. Have a strong understanding of welding processes, metallurgy, symbols, drawings, NDT, and quality procedures.
  8. Verify inspection records and documentation, including PQRs, WPS, and NDT procedures.
  9. Witness WPS qualification, review compliance with codes and contracts.
  10. Ensure production welding and inspection comply with standards.
  11. Conduct visual weld inspections and review inspection reports.
  12. Supervise and train welding inspectors and assistants.
Job Qualifications
  1. Knowledge of quality system models such as ISO9000, AS9100, or D1-9000.
  2. Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  3. Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Welding Engineering or related field.
  4. Preferred certifications: CWI, CAWI, or CSWIP 3.1.
  5. Satisfactory vision as per relevant standards, including color perception tests.
  6. At least 3 years of experience with GTAW and/or EBW welding on aerospace materials like titanium, aluminum, stainless steel.
  7. Experience with aerospace standards such as AWS D17.1, AWS QC1, AWS B5.1, AWS B5.2, AMS 2685, AMS 2681, AMS 2689.
