Job summary

EMBS Talent Group is seeking a Welding Coordinator for a metal fabrication business in the UK. You will work alongside an IWE-qualified Responsible Welding Coordinator, supervising welders, performing first-off inspections and solving issues.

The role combines hands-on shop-floor welding coordination with technical reviews of WPS/WPQR, tender reviews and audits. You should have strong TIG/MIG/MAG skills and read drawings; eligibility for UK security clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Diploma in IWS/EWS or IWT/EWT (or actively studying)
• Proven welding coordination or supervision experience in a controlled manufacturing environment
• Strong TIG, MIG and MAG experience across mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium
• Ability to read engineering drawings and welding symbols, including legacy drawings

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day welding coordination and technical supervision across production
• Carry out welding technical reviews of drawings, specifications and standards for tender and contract review
• Identify WPS, WPQR, welder qualifications, inspection, NDT, material and consumable requirements before work is accepted
• Develop, qualify and control WPS and WPQR documentation and run weld tests
• Maintain and monitor welder and welding operator qualifications
• Lead on welding non-conformances, investigations and corrective actions
• Support internal, customer and certification body audits
• Propose continuous improvement ideas and the investment needed to deliver them
