Job summary

Datalec UK is seeking a TIG Welder Supervisor to lead welding and fabrication operations in the UK, ensuring exceptional quality and adherence to health and safety standards. The role emphasizes mentoring junior staff, safety, and delivering projects on time.

You will oversee advanced TIG welding, orbital and robotic welding, and interpretation of drawings and WPS while maintaining ISO/ASME compliance. Driving duties may be required as part of project coordination.

Qualifications

• Proven TIG welding experience (6G preferred)
• Experience with Orbital & Robotic Welding
• Ability to read drawings and WPS
• Supervisory or leadership experience
• Knowledge of welding standards (ISO / ASME)
• Excellent testing knowledge & experience
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel, as required

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced TIG welding including 6G pipe and Orbital welding
• Oversee & manage robotic orbital welding
• Work with carbon steel, stainless steel and specialist alloys
• Interpret engineering drawings, WPS and specifications
• Lead workshop setup, layout and fabrication processes
• Develop welding procedures and quality control processes
• Manage/ Conduct X-ray & Magnetic Particle Testing to industry standards
• Support project planning and coordinate with engineers and PMs
• Ensure compliance with ISO / ASME welding standards
• Supervise and mentor welders and apprentices
• Maintain safe working practices and H&S compliance
• Represent the business, upholding our core values and behaviours with all internal and external customers, clients and third parties
• Maintain business and client confidentiality, adhering to applicable Data Protection regulations and Information Security Standards in line with company and group policies and procedures.
