Job description

OLG Recruitment is seeking Welders and Platers for our client located in Scunthorpe and Immingham. This is a full-time contract position for a minimum of two months.

As a Welder or Plater, you will be responsible for carrying out welding, fabrication, and plating activities in accordance with Line Management instructions. Candidates must hold a CSCS card or CCNSG and preferably be local to Scunthorpe or Immingham.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

1. Ensure work is performed according to instructions, documentation, quality standards, risk assessments, safety method statements, and other specifications.
2. Interpret engineering drawings and related documents as required.
3. Select appropriate welding equipment or methods based on project requirements.
4. Perform welding following proper practices and procedures.
5. Use safety equipment during welding activities in various locations.
6. Collaborate with the welding team to complete projects within designated timelines.
7. Attend training sessions to stay updated on the latest welding technologies and techniques.
8. Pass relevant welding tests or certifications as required.
9. Follow company health, safety, and environmental policies.
10. Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by the Line Manager.

Experience:

• Successful completion of a relevant apprenticeship program.

Formal Educational Requirements:

• NVQ Level 3 in Plating or Welding.

Functional Competencies:

• Responsibility for your own safety and the safety of others.
• Reporting issues, incidents, near misses, and sharing good practices through safety management systems.
