What's involved in this role:

We are looking for a Welder I in Hull, Iowa.

The Welder I is responsible for performing welding-related preventative maintenance and repair, assisting the production team in troubleshooting issues to maximize production efficiency.

1. Perform daily preventive maintenance of equipment and systems.
2. Handle repairs of mechanical and building equipment in a timely manner to limit production loss.
3. Weld and fabricate a variety of equipment and parts.
4. Install equipment per layout drawings.
5. Prepare parts list for ordering as needed.
6. Assist plant production team in troubleshooting production problems.
7. Understand and adhere to all Quality Assurance policies, immediately reporting any potential food safety issues to management.
8. Ensure hot permits, confined space permits, and other safety-related paperwork are completed. Also, ensure all PPE and safety protocols are followed.
9. Perform sanitary welding and moderate pipe fitting (stainless, copper, PVC, etc.).

What you need to join our team:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent required.
2. Minimum one (1) year of related welding experience and/or training required.
3. Experience welding stainless steel and making food-grade repairs required.
4. Experience welding with stick welders for horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions required.
5. Experience reading and understanding blueprints required.

1. Our Hull, Iowa, plant employs approximately 180 people. We produce mozzarella, parmesan, romano, cheddar, gouda, and Monterey Jack cheeses, as well as various whey streams.
