Job description

Scope of Responsibilities: The Welder is an essential member of the Industrial Refrigeration Construction team, primarily responsible for welding and fabricating industrial refrigeration equipment piping.

Essential Functions:

1. Fabricate and weld various piping systems used in industrial refrigeration.
2. Operate industrial forklifts and overhead cranes to move or position materials.
3. Properly use and care for tools and equipment such as band saws, grinders, welding machines, and other common industrial tools.
4. Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment through welding, brazing, soldering, and threading joints.
5. Cut, thread, and braze pipe to specifications using appropriate tools.
6. Pass all required certifications for MIG, TIG, and Stick welding.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1. Knowledge of welding and soldering methods for industrial refrigeration piping.
2. Basic understanding of welding equipment and materials used in industrial welding.
3. Current knowledge of welding practices and craftsmanship.
4. Proficiency in welding, soldering, brazing, fabricating, and installing heavy industrial refrigeration equipment.
5. Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications related to welding.

Education and Experience:

1. High School diploma or equivalent.
2. Trade school certification in welding or ability to pass skills assessments.
3. Experience in the Industrial Refrigeration industry.
4. At least one (1) year of welding experience.

Work Environment:

1. Location: York, PA Fab shop.
2. Ability to work overtime as needed.
3. Capable of working independently for up to twelve (12) hours.

Physical Demands:

1. Operate industrial equipment safely, including lifts and trucks.
2. Visual and auditory awareness of moving equipment.
3. Effective face-to-face, telephone, or email communication.
4. Lifting up to 75 pounds frequently.
5. Ability to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, and squat for extended periods.
