Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL in the Bristol area is seeking an experienced Welder to join its skilled workshop team. This hands-on role focuses on MIG welding and fabricating components from engineering drawings.

You will operate guillotines and press brakes, cut and shape sheet metal up to 10mm, and use plasma or flame cutting where required, delivering high‑quality parts with accuracy and safety. The position offers long‑term prospects, ongoing training, a company pension, and a supportive team

Qualifications

• Experienced Welder or Fabricator Welder with strong MIG welding skills.
• Strong sheet metal fabrication experience and ability to read measurements from drawings.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively.
• General engineering or manufacturing background; CNC experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• MIG welding sheet metal and steel sections.
• Measure, cut, fold, fit and fabricate metal components.
• Fabricate sheet steel and sections 1mm to 10mm thick.
• Operate fabrication machinery including guillotines and press brakes.
• Carry out plasma and flame-cutting as required.
• Modify and fabricate replacement metal components when needed.
• Use handheld and powered tools to complete fabrication tasks.
• Ensure work meets high quality and safety standards.

Job description

An established and growing engineering and manufacturing business in the Bristol area is looking to recruit an experienced Welder to join its skilled workshop team. This is a hands‑on position working on a variety of sheet metal fabrication projects, supporting the production of high-quality fabricated components and assemblies.

This role would suit a Welder with strong MIG welding and fabrication experience who enjoys working from engineering drawings and taking projects through the full fabrication process.

Key Responsibilities

• MIG welding sheet metal and steel sections.
• Measuring, cutting, folding, fitting, and fabricating metal components.
• Fabrication of sheet steel and sections ranging from 1mm to 10mm thickness.
• Operating fabrication machinery including guillotines and press brakes.
• Carrying out manual cutting using plasma and flame-cutting methods.
• Modifying, repairing, and fabricating replacement metal components when required.
• Using a variety of handheld and powered tools to complete fabrication activities.
• Ensuring all work is completed to high quality and safety standards.

Skills & Experience Required

• Previous experience in a Welder or Fabricator Welder position.
• Strong sheet metal fabrication experience.
• Proven MIG welding skills.
• Ability to accurately read measurements and work to specifications.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
• General engineering or manufacturing background.
• CNC machine operation experience would be advantageous.
