Job summary

Prime Appointments in Harwich, Essex is seeking a MIG Welder / Fabricator for a day shift, full-time role offering temporary to permanent prospects and long-term stability. The role is based in a busy workshop and requires MIG welding with fabrication duties.

You will weld mild steel to a high standard, read technical drawings, and support production targets while maintaining a clean, safe working environment. Immediate start may be available for the right candidate.

MIG Welder / Fabricator - Harwich, Essex - Day Shift - Full Time - Up to £17 p/h

We are currently recruiting for a MIG Welder with fabrication experience to join a well-established engineering and fabrication business based in Harwich, Essex. This is a temporary to permanent opportunity offering long-term stability. This role would suit someone with previous MIG welding experience, confident working with mild steel, and able to carry out general fabrication tasks from engineering drawings.

About the Role

You will be involved in the fabrication and welding of a range of metal components and structures within a busy workshop environment. From data centres to industrial energy systems, bespoke noise control solutions built on design excellence, combining MIG welding with light to medium fabrication duties, ensuring high-quality finished products are delivered to specification.

Key Responsibilities

• MIG welding mild steel components to a high standard
• Hand fabrication including cutting, grinding, drilling and assembly
• Working from technical drawings and job sheets

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience as a MIG Welder / Fabricator
• Confident with hand fabrication and general workshop duties
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Good attention to detail and quality workmanship
• Able to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable (for top salary bracket)

• Previous experience in a fabrication or engineering workshop environment
• Strong all-round welding and fabrication skillset
• Ability to work to tight tolerances and deadlines
• Experience working with jigs and fixtures
