Job summary

Core Group is hiring an experienced Welder/Fabricator in Cheshire for a full-time, permanent role. You will fabricate structural steel components from GA drawings and work to high standards while adhering to specifications.

The position offers 40 hours per week with overtime opportunities and competitive pay based on experience. The successful candidate will read GA drawings, operate fabrication tools, and contribute to a productive workshop environment while maintaining safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in steel fabrication.
• Ability to read and interpret GA drawings.
• Experience with steel-framed structures is desirable.
• Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
• Reliable, hardworking, and self-motivated.
• Experience using fabrication tools and workshop equipment.
• MIG welding experience advantageous but not essential.

Welder/Fabricator

Location: Cheshire

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £12.71 - £20.00 per hour (dependent on experience)

Hours: 40 hours per week, with overtime available

Core Group are currently recruiting for an experienced Fabricator to join a well-established and growing business.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for the fabrication of structural steelwork and steel-framed building components, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabricate steel components from General Arrangement (GA) drawings.
• Work independently and as part of a team to meet production targets.
• Ensure all fabrication work is completed to a high standard of quality.
• Use and maintain workshop tools and equipment safely and correctly.
• Follow company procedures and health and safety requirements.
• Contribute to a positive and productive workshop environment.

Requirements

• Previous experience in steel fabrication.
• Ability to read and interpret GA drawings.
• Experience working with steel-framed structures is desirable.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
• Reliable, hardworking, and self-motivated.
• Experience using a variety of fabrication tools and workshop equipment.
• MIG welding experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
