Job summary

Mane Contract Services seeks an experienced Fabricator Welder for a busy West Yorkshire workshop. You will fabricate and weld structural steel components to engineering drawings and project specifications, cutting, grinding, assembling and ensuring high quality and safety standards.

Working in a team, you will operate fabrication machinery and hand tools, maintain a tidy workshop, and contribute to meeting production deadlines while upholding strict safety practices.

Qualifications

• Experience in steel fabrication and welding is required.
• Ability to read and work from engineering drawings.
• Strong MIG welding skills and attention to quality.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineering drawings and fabrication specs.
• Fabricate structural steel components and weld to spec.
• Operate fabrication machinery and hand tools safely.

Job description

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Fabricator Welder to join a well-established and growing specialist steelwork business based in West Yorkshire.

The company delivers high-quality engineered steelwork solutions across a wide range of projects, including staircases, balustrades, structural steelwork, platforms, and bespoke steel installations. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of work, they are now looking to add a skilled Fabricator Welder to their day shift team.

The Role

Working within a busy fabrication workshop, you will be responsible for fabricating and welding structural steel components to engineering drawings and project specifications. This role will involve cutting, grinding, assembling, and welding a variety of steel sections while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Reading and interpreting engineering and fabrication drawings
• Fabricating structural steel components including UB's, UC's, PFC's, and CHS's
• Cutting, grinding, fitting, and welding steelwork to specification
• Operating fabrication machinery, hand tools, and overhead cranes
• Ensuring all work is completed to quality and dimensional standards
• Maintaining a safe and organised working environment
• Working effectively as part of a fabrication team to meet production deadlines

Requirements

• Previous experience in steel fabrication and welding
• Ability to read and work from engineering drawings
• Strong fabrication and MIG welding skills
• Experience working with structural steel components
• Good attention to detail and quality standards
• Reliable, hardworking, and safety conscious
• Fabrication/Welding qualifications advantageous but not essential
