Smiths (Gloucester) Ltd is seeking a skilled fabrication and welding operative to manufacture, assemble and repair metal components. You will read drawings, set up equipment, and perform MIG/MAG, TIG and MMA welding with occasional on-site work.

The role covers diagnostics, maintenance support and strict adherence to RAMS and safety standards. Based in the South West, you will contribute to high-quality fabrications, control of waste, and continuous improvement while operating in a team-focused

Qualifications

• Ability to read and work to engineering drawings and specs.
• Skilled welding across mild steel and related metals.
• Commitment to safe working practices and PPE usage.
• Experience with shop and on-site fabrication environments.

Responsabilités

• Fabricate, assemble and repair metal components by welding to drawings.
• Cut, shape and finish using plasma/oxy-fuel, grinders and presses.
• Set up workshop equipment and perform positional welding as required.
• Diagnose faults and support maintenance and breakdowns.
• Maintain quality records and comply with RAMS and permits.
