Job summary

Hughes Safety Showers, a Justrite Company, based in Stockport, is seeking a production/welder operator to join our team. The role involves stainless steel MIG/TIG welding, maintaining quality within cost targets, and continuous improvement across processes.

The ideal candidate will monitor production, resolve bottlenecks, and stay aware of new technologies to apply beneficial changes. A hands-on, adaptable approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with stainless steel MIG/TIG welding in a manufacturing setting.
• Develop and maintain systems to ensure product quality within cost limits.
• Monitor processes to resolve problems and remove bottlenecks.
• Stay aware of new production technologies and apply beneficial ones.
• Address customer requirements and complaints to drive improvements.
• Receive and store consumables to meet production needs.
• Keep workspace clean, tidy and organized.
• Carry out line manager requests as required.

Description

Key Responsibilities

• Stainless steel MIG/TIG Welding
• Develop all necessary systems and processes to ensure that products are of the appropriate quality and within the established cost limits.
• Monitor processes to resolve any problems and remove bottlenecks.
• Maintain an awareness of new developments in technology and relevant production processes and evaluate and apply those that may be of benefit to the company.
• Maintain an awareness of customer requirements and any complaints to identify any areas that may need development or improvement
• Receive and store consumables to ensure that there are sufficient stocks to meet production requirements.
• Maintain a clean, tidy and organised workspace.
• Carry out any reasonable request as required by your line manager.

Compensation:

This position offers a pay rate up to £16 per hour.
