TIG Welder

Hours of Work
Monday to Friday mornings and afternoons rotating
Week 1: 6am - 2.30pm (finish at 1pm on Fridays)
Week 2: 2pm - 10.30pm (finish at 6pm on Fridays)
Job Role
- Working with carbon and stainless steel across a range of thicknesses
- Preparing and setting up welding equipment and surfaces
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and welding procedures
- Carrying out welding on pipework, plate and critical engineering components
- Working to high quality standards, with some work subject to NDT inspection such as UT and RT
- Maintaining welding equipment, consumables and work areas
- Recording work using the company's ERP system
- Working to production timescales while maintaining quality standards
- Supporting continuous improvement and maintaining good housekeeping and H&S standards
Ideal Candidate
- Time-served Welding apprenticeship
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a coded Welder within an engineering/manufacturing environment
- Experience with TIG, MMA and MAG welding
- Coded welding experience and qualifications
- Experience working with carbon and stainless steel
- Confident reading and working from engineering drawings and WPS
- Experience welding pipework, pressure vessels or similar critical components
- Experience working to recognised welding standards such as ISO, ASME or AWS
- Experience of welding work subject to NDT inspection
- Experience in brazing is essential, with hands-on torch or induction brazing experience desirable
- Strong attention to detail and a good focus on quality
