Job description

Fabrication Welder - Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne & Wear

£17.60 per hour (Overtime available)

An opportunity to join an exciting organisation as a 3G Welder. The purpose of the role is to fabricate a varying range of products and materials using engineering drawings and following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). You will be working as part of the fabrication and welding team, ensuring that manufactured parts and fabrications meet customer requirements and are delivered in a timely manner.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Fabricate a varying range of products and materials according to the correct SOP.
2. Highlight any issues to the Chargehand/Team Leader that may affect fabrication quality.
3. Check all relevant information on Route Cards to ensure correct drawings and materials have been issued prior to manufacturing.
4. Sign off relevant sections of Route Card upon completion of operations.
5. Report any non-conforming components to the section supervisor promptly.
6. Keep the work area clean and ensure the use of appropriate safety equipment at all times.
7. Use appropriate lifting equipment and seek assistance when handling heavy objects.
8. Adopt good work practices in line with company procedures.
9. Participate in and support improvement activities within your area as required.
10. Adhere to all Health & Safety policies, procedures, and risk assessments.
11. Attend team briefings and participate as required.
12. Perform any other duties reasonably requested by your Line Manager, Production Manager(s), or senior management.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

1. Essential:
   • Working knowledge of fabrication and welding.
   • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
   • Proficient in MIG, TIG, stick, and arch welding.
   • Experience in welding and fabricating steel components.
   • Ability to follow technical drawings and plans.

Competitive remuneration package offered: £17.60 per hour (additional overtime available).
