Steelway Protect in Burnopfield, Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, are Sheetmetal and steel security specialists, offering a range of accredited products certified to LPCB Standards. We provide a comprehensive service including design, survey, testing, manufacturing, installation, project management and service contracts.

Responsibilities

This is a full-time on-site role for a Fabricator/Welder at Steelway Protect in Newcastle. The Fabricator/Welder will be responsible for fabricating and welding steel components, interpreting blueprints, operating welding equipment and ensuring the quality of finished products.

• Keep accurate records of electrical work performed.
• Fabricating Sheetmetal components - 3mm Mild Steel / Mig Welding. Dressing must be to a good standard.
• Fabricating Structural Steel components in 6-15mm Mild Steel / Mig Welding.

Candidate must be able to read Engineering drawings and be able to work on their own or as part of a team if required.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in fabrication and welding techniques.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
• Experience in operating welding equipment.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols in welding.
• Strong attention to detail and quality of work.
• Physical dexterity and strength for manual tasks.
• Certification in welding or related field is a plus.
• Previous experience in steel fabrication industry is beneficial.
