The National Trust is seeking a Welcome Manager to lead our welcoming team across Coleton Fishacre, Overbecks and coastal car parks in South Devon. You’ll ensure superb visitor experiences and smooth day‑to‑day operations in the welcome area and paid entry sites.
You’ll develop, mentor and inspire your team of staff and volunteers, uphold Trust policies, manage risk, money handling and emergencies, and contribute to the charitable income and reputation.
We’re looking for someone with a gift for helping everyone to feel welcome to join us as a Welcome Manager across Coleton Fishacre, Overbecks and our coastal car parks across South Devon from Kingswear to Wembury, leading our small but vital welcome team.
£27,612 per annum

Full-time 37.5 hours per week
You’ll lead and manage our team of welcome and service assistants and volunteers. You’ll be responsible for making sure that day-to-day operations run smoothly in the all-important welcome area at the pay for entry properties of Coleton Fishacre and Overbecks, as well as our manned car parks at South Milton Sands and Wembury.
You’ll inspire and care for your team, encouraging them to give the highest standards of service and to help grow our charitable income. You and your team will be focused on helping everyone you meet to have their best possible day, whatever it takes.
You’ll be using good judgement and decision making to lead from the front, in line with National Trust guidelines, values and policies.
You’ll regularly act as duty manager for Coleton Fishacre and occasionally Overbecks, with specific responsibilities including safeguarding, cash and tills, fire, security and evacuation. You’ll be the main point of contact for staff, volunteers and visitors in case of emergency, enquiries or complaints.
