Job summary

Kas Metal Trading Limited in Biggleswade is hiring a Weighing Operative to accurately grade and weigh scrap metal on site. You will interact with suppliers and the public, operate the PC, and ensure correct storage in collaboration with warehouse staff.

The role requires an FLT licence (in-house or RTITB), reliability, and a good health and safety mindset. Prior experience with non-ferrous scrap metal is desirable.

Hours are 42.5 per week, Monday to Friday, with a full-time contract.

Hours: Full-time

42.5 hours per week Mon - Fri

As a Weighing Operative, you will play a key role in the accurate grading and weighing of Scrap Metal onto the site.

Key Responsibilities

• Grading & weighing of Scrap Metal
• Dealing with Merchant suppliers and public trade.
• Operation of PC
• Communicating with Warehouse Operative ensuring correct storage
• Handling quality issues with delivered material
• Housekeeping and ensure working area is always clean and tidy
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations
• Operation of FLT
• General Warehouse duties

Required Experience

• FLT licence (In-house or RTITB)
• Reliable attendance record, with strong work ethics
• Health & Safety awareness
• PC literate and experience with inhouse software systems

Desired experience (not essential)

• Experience in scrap metal recycling
• Has knowledge of non-ferrous metals
• Plant machinery operation (Eg: Material handler, Loading Shovel)
