Job summary

KFM Recruitment is seeking an experienced Weighbridge Operative / Yard Operative for a busy scrap metal recycling site in the United Kingdom. The role blends weighbridge duties with yard work, administration and customer service.

Essential experience includes handling ferrous and non-ferrous metals, a valid forklift licence and a full UK driving licence. The job offers a full-time, on-site position with on-site parking and training where required.

Qualifications

• Experience in scrap metal industry required.
• Valid forklift licence.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Comfortable working outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Operate weighbridge to weigh customers and vehicles in and out.
• Produce manual and printed weighbridge tickets.
• Identify and sort different grades of ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metal.
• Direct customers and vehicles to yard areas.
• Assist with unloading smaller loads.
• Carry out general yard and labouring duties.
• Organise daily jobs and collections for drivers.
• Assist with transport administration and use electronic till system.
• Perform general computer and administration duties.
• Provide a professional and helpful service to customers.
