Job summary

Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Weekend Housekeeper to support ward mealtimes and maintain kitchen cleanliness on Saturdays 16:00-19:00 and Sundays 16:00-19:00. The role ensures patients receive meals and refreshments in a timely, professional manner while adhering to hygiene, safety and infection prevention standards.

Qualifications

• Supports ward environment during evening mealtimes.
• Maintains cleanliness in kitchen and prep areas.
• Completes hygiene, safety, and infection prevention tasks.

Responsibilities

• Serve evening meals to patients and ensure accurate delivery.
• Complete the evening soup round and serve soups to patients as required.
• Carry out the evening tea and refreshment rounds for patient access to drinks.
• Keep ward kitchen and food prep areas clean and tidy.
• Wash and store kitchen equipment, crockery, and utensils per hygiene procedures.
• Complete cleaning schedules and maintain records (temperature, cleaning logs, food service docs).
• Report maintenance, hygiene or safety concerns to the appropriate department.
• Follow Trust infection prevention and safety policies and collaborate with nursing, catering and facilities staff.
