Job summary

Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a part-time housekeeper for Ward 34 to support catering, cleaning and stock on the orthopaedic team. The role focuses on welcoming patients and maintaining a clean, safe ward with proactive communication to staff and relatives.

Shifts are on Saturdays and Sundays 07:30–16:00. Full training is provided, prior NHS experience is not essential. An Enhanced DBS check is required to fulfil the role.

Qualifications

• Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
• Experience dealing with the general public.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with nutrition and hydration on the ward.
• Keep unit and patient areas clean and tidy.
• Complete weekly and monthly cleaning tasks to a high standard and document.
• Manage ward stock.
• Welcome and communicate with patients, staff and relatives in person and by telephone.
• Ensure catering, cleaning and maintenance services are provided on the ward.
• Coordinate patient facilities to keep the ward clean, safe and comfortable.
• Undertake other non-clinical duties as directed by the ward sister or charge nurse.
• Liaise with support service departments.
• Deliver facilities services to maintain the patient environment.
• Follow infection prevention and control policies.
