Job summary

Vets Now in Derby is seeking a Veterinary Nurse for a 12-month fixed term role starting from October 2026. The weekend position offers up to £17 per hour DOE plus benefits, with 1:4 weekend shifts Saturday 12:00–18:30 and Sunday 08:30–18:30 and bank holiday coverage.

The role focuses on nursing duties including triage, surgery, anaesthesia, and in-patient care in a fast-paced ECC environment. RCVS registration and ECC experience are valued as you support our emergency services.

Qualifications

• RCVS registered for a minimum of six months.
• Motivated to maintain high clinic standards.
• Passionate about caring for our clients and their pets.
• ECC caseload experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• First Aid: give appropriate advice over the phone and perform in clinic.
• Critical Care: monitor major body systems and in-patient trends.
• Diagnostics: perform basic diagnostic procedures in a sole charge capacity.
