Job summary

Catering is seeking a Theatre Healthcare Assistant for weekends in Scotland. The role supports elective surgical and general lists within a weekend insourcing team, helping to reduce patient waiting lists. It is a temporary, part-time position with a weekend schedule.

The ideal candidate has prior Theatre HCA/ODP support experience, understands aseptic technique, and holds PVG clearance or is willing to obtain one. Right to work in the UK is required.

Qualifications

• Experience as Theatre HCA/ODP support worker in NHS or private hospital.
• Solid aseptic technique and infection control knowledge.
• Current PVG or willingness to obtain one.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Prepare theatres, equipment and instrumentation before surgical lists.
• Support scrub and circulating team during procedures.
• Assist with patient positioning, transfer and post-op recovery support.
• Maintain stock levels, cleanliness and infection control standards.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anaesthetists and theatre staff to keep lists running smoothly.
