Job summary

Catering is seeking a Theatre Healthcare Assistant for weekends in Scotland. The role supports elective surgical and general lists within a weekend insourcing team, helping to reduce patient waiting lists. It is a temporary, part-time position with a weekend schedule.

The ideal candidate has prior Theatre HCA/ODP support experience, understands aseptic technique, and holds PVG clearance or is willing to obtain one. Right to work in the UK is required.

Qualifications

• Experience as Theatre HCA/ODP support worker in NHS or private hospital.
• Solid aseptic technique and infection control knowledge.
• Current PVG or willingness to obtain one.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Prepare theatres, equipment and instrumentation before surgical lists.
• Support scrub and circulating team during procedures.
• Assist with patient positioning, transfer and post-op recovery support.
• Maintain stock levels, cleanliness and infection control standards.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anaesthetists and theatre staff to keep lists running smoothly.

About the role

We’re looking for an experienced Theatre HCA to join our weekend insourcing team, supporting elective surgical and General lists for our client based in Scotland. This is a great opportunity for an HCA who wants flexible weekend work with a well established insourcing provider, helping to reduce patient waiting lists.

What you’ll be doing

• Preparing theatres, equipment and instrumentation ahead of surgical lists
• Supporting the scrub and circulating team throughout procedures
• Assisting with patient positioning, transfer and post‑op recovery support
• Maintaining stock levels, cleanliness and infection control standards
• Working closely with surgeons, anaesthetists and theatre nursing staff to keep lists running efficiently

What we’re looking for

• Previous experience as a Theatre HCA/ODP support worker in an NHS or private hospital setting
• Sound understanding of aseptic technique and infection control
• Current PVG (or willingness to obtain one)
• Right to work in the UK

Salary: £200 – £250/day
