Job summary

Mitie in London is seeking a weekend School Caretaker to deliver high service standards while meeting SLA requirements and adhering to caretaking roles for the contract.

You will undertake training, maintain school premises and grounds, respond to helpdesk tasks, perform safety checks, and assist with room setups and contractor liaison. This role requires reliability, independence, and a proactive approach.

Qualifications

• Previous caretaking experience is preferred, but not essential.
• Reliable, hardworking and professional attitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to safeguarding and confidentiality; willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Follow Mitie's Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental policies and complete required training.
• Maintain the external grounds to a good condition.
• Ensure the safety and upkeep of school premises and grounds.
• Respond to helpdesk requests, unlock/lock buildings, porterage and room setups.
• Perform PPM tasks including fire alarm tests and emergency light checks; support out-of-hours building use.
• Liaise with and escort contractors on site.
• Adhere to Mitie's H&S policy and Safe systems of work.
