Job summary

Manpower UK is seeking a CNC Grinder for weekend night shifts in Yeovil. You will operate external CNC grinding equipment to produce aerospace components to tight tolerances, on a 36-hour week (3 x 12 hour shifts: Fri–Sun, 19:00–07:00).

The role emphasizes precision, safety, and timely delivery in a lean environment. Experience with hand measuring tools and reading drawings is required, along with a strong commitment to quality and health & safety.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of aerospace grinding tolerances and finishes.
• Experience using hand measuring equipment (micrometers, comparators).
• Understanding of safety-critical aerospace manufacturing requirements.
• PC literacy to use company systems and follow procedures.
• Team-first attitude and initiative to keep work moving.

Responsibilities

• Operate external CNC grinding machinery using MDI (Manual Data Input).
• Perform surface and thread grinding per instructions and specs.
• Interpret engineering drawings and follow process documentation.
• Meet tight aerospace tolerances and surface finish requirements.
• Complete OCQ checks and stamping to confirm quality.
• Maintain high Health & Safety standards in a lean environment.
• Support on-time delivery and customer-focused culture.
