Job summary

Siemens Healthineers is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for our Oxfordshire site. You will support a four-day weekend pattern, starting on a Monday-Friday onboarding phase, then joining a weekend engineering team to maintain high standards of quality, productivity and operational performance.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Science or a related discipline.
  • Proven ability to identify root causes, solve technical problems and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, production, engineering or operational environment.
  • Strong project management and continuous improvement capability.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Able to work independently and take ownership through to resolution.
  • Collaborative mindset across functions and levels.
  • Experience with manufacturing process development or equipment implementation is advantageous.

Our Manufacturing Engineering team plays a vital role in delivering world-leading Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) technology that helps healthcare professionals improve patient outcomes around the globe. We're looking for a driven and curious Manufacturing Engineer to join our Oxfordshire manufacturing site, where you'll have the opportunity to solve complex challenges, influence continuous improvement, and make a meaningful contribution to products that change lives.

About the Role

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you'll be responsible for supporting our production line through a four-day working pattern, including Saturday, Sunday and two additional days. Our preferred working pattern is Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, although the additional weekday requirements can be discussed.

To ensure you receive comprehensive support and training, you'll initially work Monday to Friday during your first three months. Following successful onboarding, you'll transition into the weekend engineering team, working alongside another Manufacturing Engineer to ensure quality, productivity and operational performance remain at the highest standards.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Investigating and resolving manufacturing issues using structured engineering and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Supporting manufacturing operations to maximise quality, efficiency, productivity and output.
  • Leading and delivering continuous improvement initiatives that drive measurable operational benefits.
  • Managing engineering projects, including process improvements, engineering changes and capital investment activities.
  • Working closely with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Operations and New Product Introduction (NPI).
  • Taking ownership of manufacturing challenges and driving solutions through to successful implementation.
  • Developing, introducing and optimising manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Leveraging digital technologies and innovative approaches to enhance manufacturing performance and product quality.
  • Supporting manufacturing readiness for new products and process developments.
  • Contributing to and promoting Siemens Healthineers' Zero Harm culture.
What Skills and Experience You'll Bring
  • Degree qualified in Engineering, Manufacturing, Science or a related discipline, or equivalent experience within a manufacturing or process engineering environment.
  • Proven ability to identify root causes, solve technical problems and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Experience working within a manufacturing, production, engineering or operational environment.
  • Strong project management and continuous improvement capability.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to work independently, make informed decisions and take ownership of issues through to resolution.
  • A collaborative mindset with the confidence to work effectively across multiple functions and levels of the organisation.
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach with a passion for driving improvements and delivering results.
  • Experience of supporting manufacturing process development, equipment implementation or production optimisation would be advantageous.
