Job summary
Hillier Garden Centre at Ruislip is seeking a friendly Garden Centre Assistant for weekend work. The role offers 7.5 hours per week with the potential for extra hours during peak periods. The hourly rate is up to £12.71, with pay aligned to minimum wage requirements.
You will assist customers, provide plant advice, and help keep the centre clean, stocked and ready for trade. Training is provided and a supportive, family-run environment is promised.
Qualifications
- Experience in retail or garden centre environments is a plus.
- Willingness to learn and follow training provided.
- Ability to work weekends and adapt to peak periods.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service and help customers with queries.
- Offer advice on plants and gardening products.
- Maintain plant health through watering, pruning and pest checks.
- Replenish, price, rotate and display stock to standard.
- Process payments accurately and handle cash/card transactions.
- Support stock control, deliveries and wastage reductions.
- Promote the Hillier Gardening Club to customers.
- Keep areas clean, safe and well-organised.
