Job summary

Amey is seeking a Building Control Officer to join the National Highways Account at the Regional Operations Centre (South East), Godstone. The role is on-site with 24 hours per week across Saturday and Sunday, at a rate of £14.12 per hour.

You will perform administrative duties, conduct site checks, and assist engineers with PPMs and reactive works. The role requires strong organisation, health and safety awareness, COSHH compliance, and the ability to respond to events such as alarms and

Qualifications

• Strong administrative skills and attention to detail.
• Good understanding of Health and Safety and COSHH requirements.
• Knowledge of basic building maintenance or handyman duties.
• Excellent communication via email/phone and logging actions.

Responsibilities

• Admin tasks using Microsoft Office.
• Communicate with suppliers by email and phone.
• Conduct daily site checks and log action findings.
• Prepare site paperwork for engineers/operatives for PPMs and reactive works.
• First line response to reactive events (fires, power outages, maintenance calls).
• Ensure Health and Safety and COSHH compliance.
• Carry out general repairs and maintenance as needed.
• General building/grounds maintenance and stock management.
