Job summary

Wagstaff Recruitment in Witney is seeking a Weekend Engineering Supervisor to lead a small team and carry out planned maintenance and reliability tasks during weekend shutdowns. You will oversee 3 engineers, allocate PPMs around production and use SAP for work orders.

The role is permanent, on-site in Witney, with a weekend-only shift. Strong leadership and multi-skilled electrical/mechanical experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong PPM and reliability maintenance experience.
• Able to lead from the front, prioritise tasks and organise PPM schedules.
• Experience as a team leader or proven track record.
• Ideally multi-skilled engineer.
• Time-served apprenticeship preferred.
• Knowledge of continuous improvement and reliability engineering.
• NVQ Level 3 or higher in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• Experience in manufacturing environment advantageous.
• SAP knowledge or similar systems.
• Comfortable being the most senior person on site weekends.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on leading a team of 3 engineers to complete planned maintenance and reliability tasks.
• Work closely with the other engineering supervisor to organise PPMs around production.
• PPM workload allocation, prioritisation of tasks, completion of work orders in SAP.
• Create new PPM plans, monitoring reliability engineering and suggest improvements.
• Still partake in hands-on tasks with electrical & mechanical PPMs, CI work and repairs of production machinery.
• Liaise with the storesperson to report on used spares and forecast future needs for weekend PPM tasks.

Do you want to work for a leading manufacturer, with the job security of being part of a global group. They are looking for a Weekend Engineering Supervisor to lead a team that carries out all PPM and reliability engineering activities during the weekend shutdown period.

Role & Responsibilities of the Weekend Engineering Supervisor

• Hands‑on leading a team of 3 engineers to complete planned maintenance & reliability tasks
• Work closely with the other engineering supervisor to organise PPM’s around production
• PPM workload allocation, prioritsation of tasks, completion of work orders in SAP
• Create new PPM plans, monitoring reliability engineering and suggest improvements

• Ideally be a multi‑skilled engineer
• Beneficial if completed a time‑served apprenticeship
• Knowledge of continuous improvement & reliability engineering
• NVQ Level 3 or higher in electrical or mechanical engineering
• Previously have worked in some form of manufacturing environment would be advantageous
• Ideally have used SAP systems or something similar
• Comfortable being the most senior person on site over the weekends
