Job summary

Sodexo at National Probation Service, Elm Bank, 59 Bradford Rd Cleckheaton BD19 3LW, is seeking a dedicated cook to join our team in an essential lone-working role. You will prepare high-quality meals for residents and staff at a fixed site, ensuring safe, nutritious and welcoming environments.

You will manage all aspects of food production on site, work independently to deliver meals that meet residents' needs, with a focus on food safety, cleanliness and timely service.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in cooking or catering essential.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work independently.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage time and tasks efficiently while working alone.
• The ability to remain self-motivated and proactive when working without direct supervision.
• A positive, independent, and team-oriented attitude, with a willingness to follow direction when needed.

Responsibilities

• Independently prepare and cook a variety of meals according to scheduled menus for residents and staff.
• Manage your own schedule and kitchen operations, ensuring meals are prepared and served on time with minimal supervision.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and hygiene in all areas, including the kitchen and dining spaces.
• Restock essential kitchen supplies like ingredients, utensils, and cleaning products.
• Communicate with site staff and other departments as needed, providing updates and ensuring smooth operations.
• Adhere to health and safety protocols at all times, ensuring compliance while working alone.
