Job summary

Sodexo in Oldbury is seeking a Weekend Cook to join our kitchen team. You will prepare and serve nutritious, high-quality meals for residents and staff, following planned menus and food safety standards.

You'll take day-to-day responsibility for the kitchen during weekend shifts, manage your workload, and ensure meals are ready on time. The role suits a professional cook with strong hygiene practices who can work independently in a lone-working environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a professional cooking or catering role is essential.
• Good understanding of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen procedures.
• Ability to manage time and prioritise tasks to keep the kitchen running smoothly.
• Strong communication and customer service skills for a professional environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of nutritious, high-quality meals for residents and staff, following planned menus.
• Take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the kitchen, managing workload independently.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness across kitchen and dining areas.
• Monitor and replenish kitchen stock, ensuring ingredients and equipment are available.
• Build positive working relationships with on-site colleagues to ensure smooth service.
• Follow health and safety procedures, working confidently in a lone-working environment.
