Job summary

Sodexo is hiring a Weekend Cook for the National Probation Service Approved Premises in Eccles. You will prepare and cook nutritious meals for residents and staff during weekend shifts, taking ownership of all food preparation and ensuring quality and safety.

This lone-working role offers a meaningful setting and the chance to contribute to a supportive community. Shifts are Saturday and Sunday from 1:30pm to 6:00pm, with pay at £12.91 per hour.

Qualifications

  • Previous cook/chef experience in catering, hospitality or food service.
  • Desirable City & Guilds 706/1 & 706/2 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Professional Cookery.
  • Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and health & safety standards; IOSH is a plus.
  • Good IT basics: Word, Excel, Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook, and serve high-quality meals in a fast-paced kitchen.
  • Deliver excellent food service while maintaining high standards.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and EHO regulations.
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness and sanitation.

What you’ll do:
  • Prepare, cook, and serve high-quality meals in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Deliver excellent food service while consistently maintaining high standards
  • Ensure full compliance with food safety, hygiene, and EHO regulations at all times
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness and sanitation in line with best practice standards
What you bring:
  • Previous experience as a cook or chef within acatering, hospitality, or food service environment
  • Relevant culinary qualifications such as City &Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Professional Cookery (desirable)
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and health& safety standards, with IOSH qualification desirable
  • Passion for food, excellent attention to detail, and a genuine enthusiasm for delivering quality meals
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
