Job summary

Sodexo is seeking a part-time kitchen role in Blackburn, with weekend shifts on Saturdays and Sundays. The position involves preparing and cooking nutritious meals for residents and staff, managing the kitchen independently, and maintaining high food hygiene standards. Aged 18+ and able to provide ID are required.

You'll work 12 hours per week, 8:00am – 2:00pm, with a pay rate of £12.91 per hour. This role emphasizes ownership, meaningful impact, and working with a dedicated team in a care

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a professional cooking or catering role is essential.
  • Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene and kitchen procedures.
  • Able to work independently, manage your time and prioritise tasks.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Reliable, self-motivated and confident working alone.
  • Positive and flexible, with the ability to work well with others and following procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook nutritious, high-quality meals for residents and staff.
  • Manage the kitchen independently and make sure meals are ready and served on time.
  • Keep the kitchen and dining areas clean and maintain high food hygiene standards.
  • Check stock levels and order or replenish ingredients and supplies when needed.
  • Work well with colleagues and communicate clearly to keep the service running smoothly.
  • Follow all health, safety and food hygiene procedures, including if working alone.
